What a business network needs
An office network is four boxes. Each one has a single job. When one is missing, the whole office feels it.
The four boxes
- The internet box. Your internet provider rents it to you. It ends the line coming into the building.
- The firewall. A firewall is the guard at the door. It decides what gets in and out, and keeps groups of devices apart.
- The switch. It gives wired ports to desks and printers, and powers the Wi-Fi points over the same cable.
- The Wi-Fi points. They carry the wireless network to every room.
The internet box belongs to the provider. The other three are the ones we manage.
What the Network card does
- The firewall is managed and watched.
- Switches and Wi-Fi points are kept current.
- Sign-in through a server in your office is kept working, where you have one.
Changing a firewall rule, updating a box, or fixing flaky Wi-Fi is included. New hardware, a redesign, or taking old gear out is a project we quote first.
It costs $95 a month for each server or site. Security setup does not grow with headcount, so it is one flat price.
