Licences: who has what

A licence is one paid seat for one person. A person with no licence cannot use email. A licence with no person is money spent for nothing.

Where to see them

  • Microsoft 365: in the admin center, open Billing, then Licenses. Each person’s licence also shows on their user page.

  • Google Workspace: in the Admin console, open Billing, then Subscriptions. On a flexible plan, each new user raises the bill by one seat.

How we keep the count honest

When you connect your portal, we read your user list and your licence counts. We do not read mail or files. That is how your WILDCARD bill matches the seats you really use.

Two of our cards count differently. Identity Monitor covers every user in your workspace. Unified Backups covers only the users you choose.

What the Cloud card does with licences

  • Assigns a licence when someone joins. Frees it when someone leaves.
