Your business
Report a suspicious email
Something feels off: an invoice you did not expect, a boss asking for gift cards, a link to โverifyโ your password. Do not click. Report it. It takes five seconds.
Before you start
- Nothing. If you already clicked or typed a password, skip to the bottom.
Steps
-
Outlook on the web and new Outlook. Select the message, then select Report, then Report phishing. Microsoft's page.
-
Classic Outlook. On the ribbon, select Report Message, then Phishing. Microsoft's page.
-
Gmail. Open the message. Next to Reply, select More, then Report phishing. Google's page.
-
Outlook on your phone. Open the message, tap the three dots, tap Report Junk, then Phishing.
What happens next
- The message moves to junk and the sender is reported. In Outlook the sender is still allowed, so block them if they keep coming.
