Restore a file from backup
Unified Backups keeps copies of your cloud files and mail three times a day, and of your computer every couple of hours. When something goes missing, we find the last good copy and put it back.
Before you start
- The file’s name, where it lived (desktop, personal drive, shared drive, mailbox), and when it was last right.
Steps

Check the Recycle Bin on your computer, or Deleted Items in your mailbox.

Still missing? Email [email protected] with the three facts. If a whole folder is gone, or files have strange new names, call as well. That can be ransomware.

We find the version from before the problem and restore it.
What happens next
- Cloud restores land the same or next business day. Cloud copies are kept with no end date, so last year’s version is still there. Computer backups are kept for 7 years.
- A computer restore brings back the files, or the whole computer if the drive died. Restores are included.
