Guest Wi-Fi

Guest Wi-Fi is a second wireless network for people who do not work for you. Customers, visitors, the plumber. It gets them online and keeps them away from everything else.

Why visitors get their own network

  • A visitorโ€™s laptop can carry anything. On the guest network it cannot reach your computers, printers or files.
  • You can hand out the guest password freely. Your staff password stays private.

What it takes

Separating networks only works when every box is one we manage. Wi-Fi that comes straight out of the internet providerโ€™s box cannot be split. The fix is one of two things: our own Wi-Fi point, or the providerโ€™s box set to pass traffic through with its Wi-Fi turned off. We check which one at the site visit.

A shared workspace we built runs three networks: members, guests and the office itself.

What we change for you

Once the guest network exists, changes are included with the Network card. A new password, a different name, a visitor who cannot connect: tell us and we handle it. Adding a Wi-Fi point or redesigning the networks is a project we quote first.
