When an account looks compromised

Compromised means someone else is inside your account. The signs: people reply to mail you never sent, your password stops working, or invoices go out with the wrong bank details. Treat it as an emergency. Minutes matter.

Before you start

  • A phone, and a device you trust.

Steps

  1. Call +1 888 274 3530. Say "I think an account is compromised." The emergency page has the after-hours number.

  2. From a trusted device, change the password. Pick a new one you have never used anywhere.

  3. Sign out everywhere. In Microsoft 365 and Google this is one button in your account's security settings.

  4. Tell us what the account could reach: shared mailboxes, bank logins, client files. We check each one.

What happens next

  • We sign the account out of every device, block sign-in, and reset the password on our side.
  • We check for mail sent in your name and warn the people who got it.
  • We find how the thief got in and close that door. Usually the fix is multi-factor sign-in.
