Role-based Access Control

In plain language

Giving people access based on their job role instead of picking permissions one by one.

The metaphor

Like handing out keys by job title: a receptionist key opens the front door and the supply cupboard, a manager key opens more.

How it works

  • You define roles such as Reception, Billing and Manager.
  • Each role gets a fixed set of permissions.
  • New hires are assigned a role and receive what it grants.
