Admin account

A login with power to change settings, add users and see everything, which needs far more protection than an everyday login.

Like the master key ring: it opens every door, so it stays locked away and only comes out for the jobs that need it.

How it works

  • It can create users, change security settings and read data.
  • Use a separate admin login for admin tasks and a normal one for everyday work.
  • Keep the number of admins small and turn on MFA for each.
  • Keep one emergency admin account with a long password in a safe place.

How WILDCARD handles it

Cloud covers workspace administration for Microsoft 365 or Google: who is an admin, and what each person can do. Password Manager holds the admin credentials.

  • An owner who is a Global Admin and reads email on the same account.
  • A shared admin password that a former employee still knows.
  • An office manager who needs to reset passwords and nothing else.

A question owners ask

Should the owner have admin rights? Own the account, and use a separate admin login for admin tasks. Everyday work happens on a normal one.
