Insider threat

A risk that comes from a current or former staff member, by mistake or on purpose.

Like a spare key in the wrong pocket: the person who holds it may mean no harm, and the risk is still there.

How it works

  • Most are accidents, such as sending a file to the wrong person.
  • A few are deliberate.
  • Limit access and remove it when people leave.
  • Log activity.

How WILDCARD handles it

Cloud covers users and permissions, and Identity Monitor watches sign-ins and sessions.

  • A leaver downloads client lists.
  • A mistaken email.
  • A shared password in use after departure.

A question owners ask

How do I reduce the risk? Give each person only the access they need, and remove it quickly when they leave.
