Full Disk Encryption

Scrambling everything on a computer's drive so the data is unreadable without the sign-in.

Like keeping documents in a locked safe inside a locked office: a stolen laptop is just a locked box.

How it works

  • Windows, Mac and phones all have it built in.
  • Without the password or key, the drive contents are unreadable.
  • It protects against lost or stolen devices.
  • Keep the recovery key somewhere safe.

What can go wrong (example scenario)

A consultant's laptop was stolen from a car. It held client files and had no drive encryption, so the owner had to assume every file was exposed and notify clients.

How WILDCARD handles it

Cloud covers the Microsoft 365 or Google workspace settings that protect your data, and your IT provider can confirm drive encryption on each laptop.

  • A firm turns on drive encryption on every laptop.
  • A clinic confirms the recovery keys are stored with IT.
  • A traveller leaves a laptop with a hotel safe and no worries.

A question owners ask

Does it slow my computer?

On a modern machine, you will not notice it.

Something here sounds like your problem?

Every WILDCARD card exists to solve one named problem. Find yours.
