E-E-A-T

Experience, Expertise, Authoritativeness, Trustworthiness

The signals Google looks for to decide whether a page comes from someone who knows the subject and can be trusted.

Like checking a contractor's licence, past jobs and reviews before letting them into your house.

How it works

  • Experience: first-hand knowledge, like real photos of your own work.
  • Expertise: the people writing know the subject.
  • Authoritativeness: others in your field mention or link to you.
  • Trustworthiness: accurate facts, clear contact details and a secure site. Google calls this the most important of the four.
  • It comes from Google's guidelines for its human quality raters. It is not a single score.

What can go wrong (example scenario)

A home inspector filled a blog with generic articles under no name. The pages added nothing new, and the site slid behind competitors who posted real inspection photos and named their staff.

How WILDCARD handles it

Managed Search builds content around your real work: named people, real projects and accurate details.

  • A law firm adds each lawyer's name and bar admission to the articles they write.
  • A roofer posts before-and-after photos from real local jobs.
  • A clinic lists its address, phone and licensing on every page footer.

A question owners ask

Can a small business compete with big brands on E-E-A-T?

Yes. Local, first-hand experience is the part big brands find hardest to fake.
