CVE

Common Vulnerability Enumeration

A public ID number given to each known security flaw in software so everyone refers to the same one.

Like a case number on a recall notice: it lets everyone talk about the same defect.

How it works

  • Each flaw gets an ID such as CVE-2025-1234.
  • Vendors publish fixes that refer to the ID.
  • Scanners and patch tools match their findings to the list.
  • A high score means urgent, though not every flaw affects you.

How WILDCARD handles it

Patch Management closes known flaws by keeping Windows, Office and Chrome updated on schedule.

  • A news story names a flaw with an ID in a popular tool.
  • An IT provider checks whether the flaw affects any client.
  • A firm waits for a vendor fix and applies it.

A question owners ask

Do I need to track these?

No. Your patching service and IT provider do. You only need to confirm updates are applied.

Something here sounds like your problem?

Every WILDCARD card exists to solve one named problem. Find yours.
