ASLR

Address Space Layout Randomization

A protection that shuffles where programs sit in memory each time they start, so attackers cannot predict where to strike.

Like rearranging the furniture every night so a burglar who memorised the layout cannot find the safe in the dark.

How it works

  • It is built into current Windows, macOS and Linux.
  • Each start places the program in a different spot.
  • It makes writing an attack harder.
  • It is one layer and still needs patches.

How WILDCARD handles it

Patch Management closes known holes, and Workstation Defender blocks zero-day attacks.

  • A security guide lists it as a default protection.
  • An exploit fails because the address guessed is wrong.
  • An old program that disables it is flagged.

A question owners ask

Do I need to turn it on?

No, current systems have it on already. Keep them updated.

Something here sounds like your problem?

Every WILDCARD card exists to solve one named problem. Find yours.
