Vishing

A scam phone call where someone pretends to be your bank, the CRA or IT support to get money or information.

Like a stranger at the door in a uniform in place of a letter: no paper to inspect, only a confident voice and a story.

How it works

  • The caller creates fear or urgency: your account is frozen, a warrant, a virus.
  • Caller ID can be faked.
  • AI voice cloning can imitate someone you know.
  • Hang up and call back on a number you already had.

How WILDCARD handles it

Phishing Training builds the pause-and-verify habit. A call-back rule for payments is a policy a vCIO can write.

  • An accountant gets a call from 'the bank's fraud team' asking for a code.
  • A receptionist gets a call from 'IT' asking for her password.
  • An owner gets a call that sounds like a supplier asking to change bank details.

A question owners ask

How do I know a caller is real? Hang up and call the number on the bank card, statement or your own contacts. A real caller will not mind.

Something here sounds like your problem?

Every WILDCARD card exists to solve one named problem. Find yours.
