Acceptable Use Policy

A short document that tells staff what they may and may not do with company technology.

Like house rules on the wall of a shared workshop: what tools to use, what to keep out and who to ask.

How it works

  • It covers email, internet, devices, passwords and personal use.
  • Staff sign it when hired and again when it changes.
  • It gives you a clear basis if something goes wrong.
  • One or two pages is enough.

How WILDCARD handles it

An acceptable use policy is a vCIO output.

  • A firm bans personal file-sharing for client documents.
  • A clinic requires screen locks and prohibits shared passwords.
  • A shop lists apps approved for work.

A question owners ask

Do I need one with five employees?

Yes. Short and clear is better than none, and it helps with insurance questions.

✨
vCIO
  • Fractional CIO on retainer
  • Moonlight, Sunlight, Starlight tiers
  • Credits for single outputs

Something here sounds like your problem?

Every WILDCARD card exists to solve one named problem. Find yours.
