Domain name

Your business's address on the internet, such as yourbusiness.ca, used for your website and email.

Like your business's name on the street sign: people find you by it, and email gets delivered to it.

How it works

  • Registered yearly through a registrar.
  • Tied to your website and your email addresses.
  • Settings in DNS point it to the right services.
  • If it lapses, your site and email stop working and someone else can buy it.

How WILDCARD handles it

Domain Security covers DNS, registration and protection: it keeps the registration from quietly expiring.

  • A firm's domain expires while its former designer holds the login.
  • A shop switches website hosts and keeps its email.
  • An owner adds a second domain for a new brand.

A question owners ask

Who owns my domain? Whoever is the registrant. Check the registrar account is in your business's name.
